Atalaya Golf & Country Club was opened in Benahavis between Marbella and Estepona in 1990. Designer Paul Krings designed it to resemble a cosy park, with gently curving fairways and manicured lawns, cool fountains and dense stands of eucalyptus, palms and azaleas. Experienced golf players have favoured Atalaya Golf since its inception due to its narrow fairways and abundance of water hazards.
